Shape Volunteer Glasgow’s Future
By bringing your skills in financial management to the team of Trustees (who are volunteers and also Directors), you can help improve lives across the city, with just a few hours of your time each month.
We are seeking to broaden the membership of our Board with the appointment of a Treasurer to support our work and complement the skills and experience of our current Trustees.
Volunteer Glasgow is the city’s lead agency for volunteering. We provide a variety of services to those who are looking for opportunities to volunteer and to public and third sector organisations that are seeking people to support their work by volunteering. In addition, we offer Befriending and Mentoring Services for young people and for older people. On behalf of the Community Planning Partnership, we chair the city’s Volunteering Strategy governance group with partners.
Our forecast income in 2019/20 is over £900,000. We currently employ 25 members of staff and directly support over 120 people that are volunteering as Welcome Team members, Youth Volunteering Ambassadors, Mentors, Befrienders, Home Visitors and Lunch Club Helpers.
Experience of financial management in a business or not-for-profit organisation of a similar or greater size is essential. Personal or professional experience of volunteering and/or of the third sector would be very useful.
We welcome applications from anyone aged 16 and over within Glasgow with suitable experience. We are determined that our Board membership reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.
