Staff at Nationwide are keen to put down their calculators, step away from their spreadsheets and roll up their sleeves to help a charitiable organisation for a full day in February or March.
Do you have a project or piece of work they could help with? Maybe gardening, painting or cleaning? In the past a group of 8 staff have refurbished a garden, planted trees and sorted clothing and bric-a-brac for a homeless charity. They are keen to do something similar but are also open to new challenges.
Nationwide provides staff with two Social Investment days per annum: one involves assistance with donations (already done) and the other to work in a charitable organisation. Staff really enjoy this opportunity to offer their time as they say that helping directly in this way allows them to see the benefit of their help and also to have a better understanding of the charity and their needs.
Organisations responding to this offer are responsible for ensuring appropriate insurances are in place, be willing to supervise the task(s) and, if applicable, ensure risk assessments have been undertaken. Normal policies and procedures of your organisation will apply.
