Saltire Awards
Saltire Awards are the Scottish Government’s way of recognising and rewarding the commitment, contribution and achievements of young volunteers in Scotland. Any young person, aged between 12-25, can gain nationally recognised certificates for the volunteering they do – from as little as 10 hours right they way to 500 hours and beyond!
They are administered via the Saltire Awards website and locally on behalf of Government by every Third Sector Interface/Volunteer Centre. Volunteer Glasgow administers awards on behalf of young people living in the Glasgow local authority area.
Any participant can progress through the various stages but also has the option to request any of the certificates at any time.
The Challenge – for those getting started in volunteering through team challenges
The Approach – for when you’ve reached 10 and 25 hours volunteering
The Ascent – for when you’ve reached 50, 100, 200 or even 500 hours volunteering.
The Summit – for those who have made an outstanding contribution towards volunteering.
