Volunteer Glasgow is delighted to be part of intandem.  intandem, Scotland’s mentoring programme for young people, brings together young people with a mentor to build a consistent and trusting relationship, and improve their chances in life.  The Scottish Government has appointed Inspiring Scotland to lead the development of the intandem programme.

intandem aims to promote the wellbeing of each and every child who is matched with a mentor.

The focus in every mentoring relationship will be on developing the child, recognising and building their strengths, and providing support and encouragement to deal with difficult and challenging situations in their lives.

At Volunteer Glasgow, we’re working closely with YPeople to deliver this service to young people looked after at home in Glasgow.  Volunteer Glasgow is providing intandem to young people living in NorthWest and South Glasgow and YPeople is doing the same in the NorthEast of the city.

intandem matches young people aged 8-14 who are Looked After at Home with adult volunteers and mentoring matches then spend time together on a weekly basis.

Volunteer Glasgow’s intandem Mentoring Service provides a high quality experience for

  • Young people aged 8-14 and living on the southside or northwest of Glasgow, as well as their families
  • Adult volunteers who are able to make a commitment to supporting a young person
