A Taste of Volunteering
I have been working with a group of students from Abercorn School in Glasgow’s West End who are seeking a one-off Volunteering Taster session. If you think you could host a session for them, please check out this blog post with online contact form: https://www.volunteerglasgow.org/organise/young-volunteers-seeking-a-taste-of-volunteering/
Volunteer Glasgow has also been supporting two groups of women via One Parent Families Scotland to attend Supported Volunteering Tasters programmes. We are very grateful to all the organisations who have hosted taster sessions already, who have agreed to host sessions in the comings, or who have offered to host sessions. We hope to continue our partnership with OPFS and support many other parents to access volunteering opportunities and would love to grow the list of organisations who would be willing and able to offer volunteering taster sessions. If you think you could do so, please get in touch with emma.mclean@volunteerglasgow.org. We offer a one-off payment to taster providers and, remember, taster sessions are a great way to engage with potential volunteers and to showcase the brilliant work that you do!
Volunteer Advertising Workshop
We are hosting our final Advertising Workshop of 2024-25 on Thursday 27th March and you are cordially invited to attend!
This free 2-hr workshop provides valuable tips on how to engage more effectively with potential volunteers. You can join us via Teams to get guidance and support on how to create a dynamite advert for your volunteering opportunities via our digital platform – Volunteer Kinetic. We will show you how you can sell your volunteering opportunities to ensure that you attract just the right kind of volunteer who can bring their skills and time and energy for the benefit of your organisation.
Our next Advertising Workshop takes place on Thursday 27th March, 10.30am-12.30pm on Teams and you can book your space here.
