Our new Strategic Plan and Chief Executive appointment

The plan sets out Volunteer Glasgow’s ambitions for the next five years including our unique contribution to delivering the shared objectives of the Glasgow Volunteering Strategy and our priorities for providing effective befriending and mentoring services.

We would like to thank all of our stakeholders who participated in co-designing the strategic plan, enabling Volunteer Glasgow to make the most effective use of its available resources, delivering services that best meet the needs of the city for the coming years.

We can also confirm that we have appointed David Maxwell as permanent Chief Executive. Following selection, David has led the organisation on an interim basis since last June, successfully completing the strategic planning and business improvement processes required, and has, in addition, managed the service transfer and staff TUPE processes following our decision in December not to re-tender for carers support services contracts.

We are looking forward to working with David, the staff and volunteer teams, with you and with all our partners and supporters to deliver our strategic plan over the coming months and years.
