Welcome to our E-bulletin for September – keeping you informed with the latest news, updates and information from Volunteer Glasgow’s Organisation Support team! If you have something relevant to Volunteer Managers that you want us to include in the next e-bulletin please let us know.

Upcoming Events

We will be running workshops and events for volunteer managers and coordinators in September and October.

Our Volunteer Managers’ Networking Events will take place on Wednesday 4th October (in-person) at SWAMP Pollok and Tuesday 10th October (online) . These are a great opportunity to meet other volunteer managers and share advice, skills and experience!

We also have our Volunteer Advertising Workshop (online) on Tuesday 26th September. In this free session, you can learn how to improve the effectiveness of your volunteering advertising, make your volunteer recruitment adverts more engaging and inclusive, and meet other volunteer managers and get to know Volunteer Glasgow’s Organisation Support team.

Volunteering Opportunity Advertising

The weather is changing and the nights are drawing in! If you’re going to be looking for more volunteers over the next few months e.g. for community events & meals, holidays, or your day-to-day activities, make sure you submit your adverts to the system in plenty of time! Our current turnaround time for responding to advert submissions is three working days.

Corporate Team Volunteering Offers

As you may know, many corporate workplaces offer their employees days which they can use for volunteering and community support. Volunteer Glasgow receives requests from many of these corporate teams seeking opportunities – if you’re looking for a large team for an event or task (or training opportunities from industry experts!), this is a great way to engage with volunteers.

We are starting to see more Corporate Teams coming forward to volunteer again which is a fantastic. Click here to see current offers

Would a team of people be able to make an impact in your organisation? This doesn’t have to be painting a hall or digging a garden, you can consider the professional skills that they might have. For instance, it could be a marketing team that could be challenged to help design some visuals for a new project or provide advice. Be creative!
