Organisation Support eBulletin – June

Welcome to our Monthly eBulletin for June – keeping you informed with the latest news, updates and information from Volunteer Glasgow’s Organisation Support team! If you have something relevant to Volunteer Managers that you want us to include in the next eBulletin please let us know.

Upcoming Events – Free Workshops & Networking Opportunities for Volunteer Managers

We have three free events coming up for volunteer managers and coordinators to learn and connect!

The next session of our popular Volunteer Opportunity Advertising Workshop will take place online on Tuesday 25th June at 10:00. In this free session, you can learn how to improve the effectiveness of your volunteer advertising, make your volunteer recruitment adverts more engaging and inclusive, and meet other volunteer managers.

The session takes place online over Teams  – you don’t need a Teams account to join the session!

Then, we’ll be hosting Networking Events (both online and in-person!) – these are a great opportunity to meet and connect with other volunteer managers and coordinators, share tips and advice, or just catch up with colleagues.

The in-person Networking Event is hosted by the Mitchell Library on Tuesday 2nd July 2024, from 10am – 12pm.

The online event will take place over Teams on Tuesday 9th July from 10am – 12pm. You don’t need a Teams account to join the event.

Book your free place on our workshops and events by clicking this link.

Promoting VIOs on Social Media

We’d like to connect and feature more VIOs across Glasgow on our social media. If you’d be happy for a member of our team to drop by when we’re out and about and take some photos or videos to share your work and volunteering opportunities with our audience, please get in touch with our Comms Coordinator Kate – kate.hughes@volunteerglasgow.org.

Team Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteer Glasgow regularly receives offers of help for community groups and charities for groups of staff to volunteer, and we’ve had some great feedback from recent initiatives!

People with a wide range of skills and experience, sometimes with tools or equipment are looking for opportunities to help out in their community.  A team could help your organisation with that task that you’ve wanted done for ages, or perhaps there’s an ongoing task that you never have enough people for.

Volunteer Glasgow promotes these Team Volunteering Offers on our website and also emails you directly so keep an eye out – it could be the solution to a problem!

If you have a task or a need for some help then Volunteer Glasgow can promote your Team Volunteering Challenge or simply link you up directly.  Complete the short form the webpage (link below) with as much detail as possible and we’ll do our best to find the right team for you.
