Black History Month

Some of you may have spotted our posts on social media heralding the start of Black History Month. This year’s theme is, “I am proud to be”, and we are celebrating “small wins” – those every day achievements that are unique and personal to each of us. It is well documented how volunteering can help people overcome difficulties they are facing and can improve overall wellbeing. With all of this in mind, we are inviting Black and Brown people of all ages to share their experiences of volunteering and what they are “proud to be”. If you know anybody who would like to contribute, please contact emma.mclean@volunteerglasgow.org. Please note, while Black History Month is a month-long event, we may only be able share stories during the first couple of weeks due to other scheduling commitments.

COP26 and Trustees Week

These topics have little in common except the fact that they are overlapping each other at the start of November AND we will be creating social media campaigns to boost related volunteering and celebrate epic volunteering impact!

We will be creating two distinct campaigns for Trustees Week and one on Climate Action.

Are you looking for more board members to support and steer your organisation? or Does your organisation need more people to support your Climate Action activities? Are you taking Climate Action with the support of volunteers? Let us know and tag us in your posts as well so we can share to wider audiences.

It is a great time to think about promoting any relevant volunteering opportunities so they benefit from extra exposure and an increase in people wanting to get involved.

Please get in touch if you want any support in promoting your opportunities or if you want to discuss any possible partnership working.

For Climate Action, email: tracey.stone@volunteerglasgow.org
