Networking Events Survey Results and Plans

Thank you to everyone that took part in our latest survey regarding our upcoming Volunteer Managers Networking Events. Your feedback is invaluable to us so we can provide services that best support you.
Most agreed that an in-person event is preferred. We are excited for the prospect of getting together again!

There is a still a call for an online event to continue to cater for people who are still at home or unable to travel so we will endeavour to offer a separate online date as well.

Our next networking events will be in October. We will promote the dates closer to the time.

New Drop In For You

We trialled a ‘live chat’ time on the Slack forum for Volunteer Managers called ‘AOCB and a cup of Tea’. The take up wasn’t there. We received helpful feedback that this would be better as an online Zoom event so people could network easier and actually chat to each other.

We are happy to trial this Drop in option for you all!
It will run as a one to two hour weekly drop in on Zoom. There is no need to attend every week of course, instead come along when it suits you. The aim of the event will be to build useful new connections, ask for advice or bounce ideas off your peers or one our team.
Watch this space for it launching!

Corporate Team Volunteering offers

We are starting to see more Corporate Teams coming forward to volunteer again which is a fantastic. Click here to see current offers

Would a team of people be able to make an impact in your organisation?

This doesn’t have to be painting a hall or digging a garden, you can consider the professional skills that they might have. For instance, it could be a marketing team that could be challenged to help design some visuals for a new project or provide advice. Be creative!

Festive Support for you?

Last week we had our first request for someone wanting to volunteer at Christmas! This must break our record for earliest but these messages will continue to arrive and grow in number on the lead up to December and we want to let you know that now is the time to start to consider how and if you can make most use of this kind offer.

We work to manage expectations every year of people who think that they can volunteer for Christmas, when the reality is often that organisations across the city don’t need someone for that one day or week or they are involving pre-existing volunteers. Demands always well outstrips the supply of opportunities.

If you do have something that more people can get involved with this upcoming festive season then please get in touch with us to let us know! Perhaps this year you can do something different and take advantage of some  people power.
