COVID-19 Response – support for your organisation

A Glasgow-based organisation has been in touch with Volunteer Glasgow, to offer its support to local organisations and groups. Its team of five is used to managing phone and email enquiries for the various brands it looks after. However, as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, the team is now working from home and, as is to be expected, the number of calls and emails has reduced over the past week. Put simply, the team has extra capacity and wants to put this to good use: it can offer support to organisations/ groups in the coming weeks by offering phone or email enquiry support – for example, if phone lines for any organisations have been forced to close, it can help to field these calls. Or, more broadly, if any organisation or group is looking for volunteers to make phone calls, connect with people who are self isolating, or simply offer a friendly voice at the end of the phone for people who need some company during this difficult time. It appreciates that any option would require some organising and setting up, but is happy to look at making arrangements to do what it can to provide support.
