Glasgow’s Volunteering Charter
Signatory: The Scottish Refugee Council
The Scottish Refugee Council has pledged to:
- Create and expand appropriate opportunities for volunteering within The Scottish Refugee Council, and
- Ensure opportunities are accessible to all sections of the community, and that its volunteering workforce reflects the demographics of the city.
The whole staff and board team is committed to these pledges and will be working towards the following goals:
- Action plan outlining how we will fulfil the above pledges can be found here: Glasgow’s Volunteering Charter – SRC Action Plan – January 2017
- Baseline census data about the diversity of the volunteer team as of August 2016. This can be found here: Volunteer Charter equalities data – SRC – November 2016
As a result, the Scottish Refugee Council has obtained the right to use the Charter Mark. As one of the first five organisations to do so, Gün from the Refugee Council collected the Charter Mark certificate from Volunteer Glasgow on 27th January 2017 (pictured below).
