Derek Craig
Volunteering Development Coordinator (Employability & Young People)I have been employed at the then Volunteer Centre and now Volunteer Glasgow for over 14 years and I initially spent most of my time in a young people’s volunteering project in the southside of the city. For the last 6 years I have taken up a city-wide remit in developing and promoting volunteering for young people more so at a strategic level. I also have a remit for the overseeing of the Scottish Government’s Saltire Awards National Certification for young people’s volunteering. More recently I have moved into the Employability aspect of Volunteer Glasgow, where I help deliver the SQA Employability Award and I am also a qualified SQA Assessor and Internal Verifier as a result. I enjoy this engagement with the 18-24 years of age category as I can help share my work and volunteering experience with them and also give guidance of employability progression via volunteering.
