About this opportunity:
To be the lead volunteer for Square Yard a garden managed by Finn's Place wellbeing project.
Responsibilities include helping plan the garden season - planning, planting, harvesting, managing volunteers, rotas, coordinating with the project coordinator, helping to plan events, recording stats for reporting to funders.
Frequency & Commitment: Variable times - depending on garden use and availability. There are several groups who use the garden regularly and the local residents group meets every Saturday from 10am - 1pm during the spring - autumn growing season. Opening hours usually increase during the summer months.
Where does it happen/How do I get there?
This opportunity can be done all over Scotland.
Finn's Place can be accessed using bus route 4, 5 and 6 from the city centre. Or on the train getting off at Mount Florida train station.
Group/Organisation aims: We are a wellbeing project which offers support for people in difficult times, and we organise a programme of activities and events which enhance and promote wellbeing.
Skills, experience, or qualifications required: Gardening experience, some DIY experience, organisational skills. Ability to relate well to people of all backgrounds.
