RSPB Kelvingrove Events and Activities Assistant

About this opportunity:
We are looking for outgoing, creative and enthusiastic individuals to join our team based in the beautiful Kelvingrove Museum & Art Galleries. RSPB Scotland and Kelvingrove museum have a longstanding partnership aimed at enthusing visitors about the natural world and the work that we do to preserve it. We plan and deliver a variety of weekly events within the museum and around the park and need help in facilitating the activities and in interacting with families bringing your nature stories to life, alongside displaying our pin badges and offering RSPB membership.
These activities give us the opportunity to:enthuse people of all ages about nature; introduce our ‘Giving Nature a Home’ campaign; raise vital funds for conservation through pin boxes.

Build your experience in helping to run family activities, and help us inspire and excite the next generation of nature enthusiasts and conservationists, along with their parents! Every week can present new topics and challenges, and you will gain event and fundraising skills whilst making a real difference to the RSPB and our conservation work.
Frequency & Commitment: One weekend afternoon per month, 1 – 4pm

Group/Organisation aims: RSPB Scotland is part of the RSPB, the country’s largest nature conservation charity, inspiring everyone to give nature a home. Volunteers are an essential part of the RSPB and at the heart of what we do and achieve, without their help, our work would be greatly diminished.They take part in all aspects of our work from assisting in our tearooms, shops and visitor centres and fundraising for us to surveying seabirds, farmland birds and wildlife.
Skills, experience, or qualifications required: You will be comfortable talking to children, and happy to engage with the public about the RSPB, and conservation in general., Happy to assist RSPB staff in offering RSPB membership packages, for which full training will also be provided
Training & Support Details: Appropriate training will be provided
- This opportunity pays travel expenses. Appropriate out of pocket expenses will be re-imbursed.
