Can You Dig It? Build It? Plant It? Grow It? – Team Challenge

urban rootsTeams – are you looking for a challenge that will assist people living in Glasgow?  Are you hoping to volunteer with charities and community projects over the next few months?  Are you not afraid of getting your hands dirty

Emma at Urban Roots has a whole host of tasks she needs help with and would be delighted to hear from you.

Urban Roots is expanding the growing space at the Polmadie Plots in Toryglen over the next few months.  Tasks will include constructing raised beds, filling them with soil and compost; clearing the main path; lay hedges; clear a large area of grassland.  The area is a real wildlife haven and there is heaps of potential to expand and prepare the food growing space.  The volunteering day(s) will be on Wednesdays and up to 12 people can be accomodated.

This project will help to make a real difference to local people by encouraging them to get outdoors, keep fit, grow their own produce and eat a healthier diet at very low cost.

If you and your team think that this is a project you would like to help support contact Emma by completing the form further down the page.

Please note:  it is advised that teams dress in old clothing and sturdy footwear.

Urban Roots will provide refreshments for  volunteers.

This organization has full insurances and risk assessments in place.

All normal volunteering policies and procedures of Urban Roots will apply.
