Young Carers Mentoring

Volunteer Glasgow’s Young Carers Mentoring Service offers young people aged 11-18 who have care responsibilities for a family member, support and opportunity which is focused on the young carer, not the care responsibilities, over a 12 week period.

The service, funded by the Robertson Trust, matches young carers living in Southwest and Northwest Glasgow with adult volunteers who are recruited, trained and supported by Volunteer Glasgow.  Matches then spend time together each week building a relationship which enables the young carer to

  • Enjoy age appropriate activities
  • Increase their self-esteem and confidence
  • Explore and achieve goals and aspirations outwith the care role
  • Access services and facilities for themselves and sometimes family members.

If you would like to be involved, have a look at the appropriate page and get in touch with Laura, the Mentoring Support Worker
