Who
are Carers
Carers are wives, husbands, partners,
parents, daughters, sons, friends or neighbours who look
after a relative or friend of any age who:
 |
Is
physically ill |
 |
Is
mentally ill |
 |
Is
disabled |
 |
has
a learning disability |
 |
Is
elderly
and frail |
|
If you are looking after a relative or friend at home, yours
or theirs, then you are a carer.
Caring for someone is often rewarding but can be demanding
and isolating. You may be worried about money or your own
health; you may want someone to talk with about your situation
or you may need practical or emotional support.
