What is the Wellbeing Initiative?

We are a training organisation specialising in the delivery of Administration SVQ's
at level 1 and 2 to a client group who suffer from a physical disability / health condition. The program was set up in 1985 and is jointly funded by
Glasgow City Council, and the European Social Fund.

We provide project based tuition with practical experience through a 'real' work environment and this is followed up by a period of employer placement.

The course is designed to help in updating existing office skills and
full training for the inexperienced.

The content of the course includes the following:

-Word Processing -Stock control
-Typewriting -Health and safety
-Working with colleagues -Filing
-Reception work -Database Input
-Mail room

Personal Development.

We can provide in-house training in personal development as well as assertiveness training and communication skills, although ongoing counselling and guidance is provided throughout the course.

How long does the course last?

Usually for a 1 year period with the last 12 weeks on placement. Training is normally delivered over 4 days in the week from 10am to 3.30pm. We operate a continuous programme whereby people can join at any time of the year.

Expenses.

Full travel expenses will be paid and taxis provided for those unable to use public transport. A training allowance of £45 per week is available also. Child care can be made available for those that require this.
