VIO Tasters for Disabled People
We are seeking Volunteering Involving Organisations (VIOs) to partner with us in offering taster sessions, in view to continued volunteering opportunities, for our upcoming, specifically funded by the Clydesdale Bank, Volunteering Works for Disabled People programme beginning on the 3rd October.
The programme will operate every Monday for 12 weeks and will consist of 3 volunteering tasters, on the mornings/afternoons of the week beginnings: 17th; 24th & 31st October- so we are requesting for a ‘try it’ taster secession either the mornings/afternoons.
Due to any specific needs of the client group we would hope to receive offers from VIOs that can cater for potential additional support needs ( e.g. wheel chair users, sensory/visual impairments, etc.) i.e. ease of access, disabled toilets, etc.
In your VIO providing any 2 hour taster session for 6 participants, we would provide a cover cost of between £75- £100 per group session depending on the size of the group. We will also provide staff in support of the 2 hour session.
Should any potential volunteer wish to take up the volunteering opportunity, Volunteer Glasgow will provide the participants’ travel expenses for one volunteering session per week (and any lunch expense if over 4 hours volunteering) for the 6 weeks duration of the Programme . If the volunteer continues volunteering beyond this period then any expenses incurred would be the VIOs’, as per the VIO’s Volunteer Policy.
If your VIO wants to register an initial interest in being a Taster provider then you can complete the Registration of Interest below and Derek Craig will get back to you. OR call Derek directly on 0141 226 2562.
Many thanks in advance for any offers provided.
