Talk to 150,000 potential volunteers and promote your organisation for free!
GO LIVE! at the Green. This summer Glasgow is co-hosting the European Championships and they will have a diverse cultural festival which will take place between the 2-12th August, 10am-6:30pm each day. The plans for GO LIVE! at the Green are looking very exciting and vibrant. Read on and sign up to give people a taster of your volunteering opportunities and organisation in the Volunteering Space!
GO LIVE! at the Green has a theme of being active and inclusive with opportunities to get involved in activities beyond the event. (See an overview attached, there is nothing public yet about this event) Volunteer Glasgow, Volunteer Scotland and Glasgow Life are collaborating on a volunteering space. This will include ‘try it and see’ activities – we would like to invite organisations to use this opportunity to share what you do, raise your profile and promote your volunteering opportunities.
They are anticipating 10,000 people a day in the Green and 20,000 at the weekends, there will be plenty of events and entertainments to keep people engaged. We will create a programme for the try it and see activities so that we can advertise it online and on a physical board at the space so that people can check out what interests them and choose which times to come back.
We will have a tent space that is 10x5m and we can provide tables, chairs. VG will also have engagement tools that will get people thinking about the benefits of volunteering and how to get involved. Volunteer Scotland will have a meeting bubble/pod space which will be separate to the VG tent area and it will be available if you would prefer to hold a discussion about your volunteering opportunities. This might suit something like befriending more as it doesn’t lend itself to a volunteering taster so easily. Opportunities to volunteer with your organisation should be available for people to apply for. It will run between 10am and 6:30pm everyday over the event.
Is this an opportunity your organisation would like to be part of?
If yes then reply via the form below with some of your ideas and Tracey Stone who is coordinating from Volunteer Glasgow will be in touch soon to follow up.
