Interested in involving refugees in your volunteering roles?

logo-for-Scottish-Refugee-CouncilThe next Volunteering Information Afternoon (for asylum seekers and refugees) at Scottish Refugee Council will be held on the 27th of September

The aim of the meeting is to improve refugees’ access to volunteering opportunities in and around Glasgow. Each month SRC host several agencies keen to involve refugee volunteers in their work, who speak to attendees face to face about their organisation, services and opportunities.

The SRC have already booked an Arabic interpreter, and can book other languages if requested. They can also reimburse public transport travel tickets.

This informal meeting will take place at the new SRC offices at Portland House, 17 Renfield Street, 6th Floor, Glasgow G2 5AH.

If you work with asylum seekers and refugees, SRC would be glad to hear from you – please refer your service users by emailing volunteering@scottishrefugeecouncil.org.uk and giving their names and contact details.

If you are an agency who would like to present opportunities to asylum seekers and refugees – do get in touch and you can be registered for one of the meetings (held on the last Thursday of every month except December).

They would also be happy to talk to you more generally about ensuring refugees have access to volunteering opportunities in your organisation.

See this leaflet attached for your information.
