Our FREE half day networking mornings are designed to give the isolated, but busy volunteer manager the chance to share ideas, work on their practice, solve burning volunteering issues, hear about new initiatives, and take advantage of other supports available. The events are also very helpful for volunteer managers new to the job and looking to create a network of contacts.
The meetings take place on a quarterly basis in Volunteer Glasgow at 10, Bothwell Street and run from 9.30am to 1.00pm.

Smarter Volunteer Manager training – highly acclaimed!

Volunteer Glasgow offers the latest advance in volunteer management learning. Following a review of our training provision in 2013, we now offer a radically fresh approach to ensuring managers have all the necessary knowledge, skills and tools to maximise their success.
There’s no ‘one-size-fits-all’ structure for volunteer involving organisations so there has to be a degree of flexibility in how they are managed. We believe this should be reflected in the training available to managers.
The Smarter Volunteer Manager programme provides a safe and comfortable environment where participants may explore how to engage with volunteers in ways that maximise resources while minimising effort. The programme, grounded on our Dynamic Model of Volunteer Management* is facilitated in a way that ensures each participant can explore, in the context of their own organisation, best practice methods and ensure the most positive outcomes in their future engagement with volunteers. This approach brings together the best and most effective techniques to ensure the highest quality experience for participants.

Jim King, our Training Officer, can assist you in having a more fundamental look at your intended volunteer management and can offer focussed support to get you where you want to be.
Alongside the scheduled events, we continue to offer our established consultation and custom design service which can provide a specific, tailored response to your training needs. In the last few years, many local and national agencies have taken advantage of this excellent service. For some, it has been simply an opportunity to review an organisation’s training needs; for others we have been able to guide major changes in organisational structure.
