In 2017 the annual 5k fun run saw around 8,000 people take to the streets in a Santa suit – all in the name of charity.The Santa Dash has raised more than £250,000 for various charities since it ‘hit the streets’ in 2006 and is now a firm favourite in the city’s events calendar. Volunteers are required to assist event staff, security and police personnel in maintaining road closures and in general, directing the runners and the spectators. Min age:16
