Contact the Elderly aims to relieve the acute loneliness and isolation of people over the age of 75. We do this by organising small groups of volunteer drivers who take our elderly members to a volunteer host’s home for tea one Sunday afternoon a month. The group is warmly welcomed by a different host each month, but the drivers remain the same which means that over the months and years, acquaintances turn into friends and loneliness is replaced by companionship.
Contact the Elderly is currently urgently looking for Hosts in the South West of Glasgow so if you’d like to help in the delivery of this valuable service then please see here for further details and how to get involved.
